A marketing channel is a set of practices or activities necessary to transfer the ownership of goods from the point of production to the point of consumption. It is the way products and services get to the end-user, the consumer; and is also known as a distribution channel.
The more channel a business has, the faster they can launch a successful product. It is about maximum exposing and the probability of customer making a purchase decision. There are many fun gadgets that is not a necessity and have good channels sell better than a necessity that has few marketing channel. No matter how great a product is, if it is not being distributed correctly, it will not become a household brand.
I thought of some of the key channels:

- Railroad Era speed up the delivery and travel, introducing culture and education
- Airline create effective international business
- Telecommunication allow live decision to be made
- Internet - the most powerful channel ever created
- Future channels - no idea what could it be, but the development should be underway
